Mandi's book is out to everyone this week (and it's 99 cents)

Aloha Reader,

Mandi Feely-Swain wrote Origination Boost for every loan originator, but she started with her own team.

Some of you have seen the book here before. We wrote about Origination Boost when it first came out, back when the first copies were fresh off the press. Those went to the loan originators inside Mandi's own company, Premier Mortgage Resources. She launched it at her Success Conference, with signed copies handed out in person to the people she works alongside every day. Maryanna and I got to see some of that up close, and you could feel how much it meant to her to put it in their hands first.

The plan all along was to start with her team, then widen the circle.

This week she's widening it. Mandi went back in, added a new chapter, and Origination Boost is now available to every loan originator (or anyone) who wants it. The things that help her originators, like steadier daily habits, stronger client relationships, and the consistency that turns a good month into a good year, carry over to anyone doing this work or work like it.

To get it into as many hands as possible, she's dropping the ebook to 99 cents until August 18th. That's not a typo. Ninety-nine cents. She'd rather it be read than be priced.

There's something in how Mandi did this that's worth borrowing. She built for the people closest to her first, the ones she could look in the eye, and let the book earn its trust there before sending it out to everyone else. If you've had a book sitting in the back of your mind, that's not a bad order of operations. Write it for someone real. Then let it travel.

Mahalo for reading, and consider passing the link to any loan originators you know. That's how Mandi would want it to move.

Author giving a signature speech about imposter syndrome

Your Book Has a Signature Speech Hiding Inside It Aloha Reader, Last week, we talked about why the conversation around your ideas shouldn’t begin and end with your book. Your book gives you stories, concepts, and frameworks worth sharing and those ideas should travel. Today, I want to talk about one of my favorite ways to help them travel: a signature speech. I might be a little biased about this one. I started competitive public speaking (speech & debate) in middle school and continued...

Turn book ideas into keynote speaking opportunities

A Book Is a Terrible Place to Hide Your Best Ideas Aloha Reader, There’s something I’ve noticed after years of working in the publishing industry: too much pressure is put on books to be the finish line. Authors spend months, or even years, figuring out what they want to say. They refine the stories, organize the ideas, and finally find the language for something they may have spent a career learning. Then the book comes out and everyone celebrates! The author shares the Amazon link with...

An Orphan's Journey Home by Bill Steen

He went looking for the mother he'd never known. What he found is the heart of this book. Aloha Reader, I want to tell you about a book, An Orphan’s Journey Home, which we just finished working on in collaboration with a fabulous author, Bill Steen. I haven't been able to stop thinking about his story since we finished it. Bill was orphaned in West Germany in 1955, when he was nine months old. He spent his first years in a children's home, and then an American Army family adopted him, which...
