What One Connection Can You Make Today to Make a Lifetime of Difference?

Reminder: Be a Connector

Dear Aloha Ohana,

The other day I came across a LinkedIn post by one of my favorite CEOs, Jason Hennessey. I’ve always appreciated his leadership as someone who carries that same Aloha spirit we are all about here at Aloha Publishing. He is always giving with his knowledge and experience. His words struck me and they are a great reminder.

He says,

“I’ve learned that you are just one introduction away from changing someone’s life whether it be your life or someone else’s life.
So be a connector.
When you see synergy between two people that you know, go out of your way to make an introduction and don’t ask or expect anything in return.
The more you do this, the better your life will be too.”

At Aloha, we love making connections that make a difference in the lives of others. As I look back over my life, I have been on the receiving end of this as well as have made hundreds of connections when I see that synergy between people.

Who could you connect today that could make a lifetime of difference? Do you know someone that needs a job opportunity, a great friend that needs someone to walk alongside them as a listener in the challenge they face, or a colleague looking for a wonderful mentor?

As Jason reminds us, be a connector.

Have an amazing week and don’t forget to enjoy the final weeks of summer.

Leadership Uncomplicated by Bryan Banta

Meet Bryan Banta and the Heart Behind Leadership Uncomplicated Aloha Reader, We are excited to share with you the story of one of our new authors, Bryan Banta. When Bryan walked out of FBI headquarters in a dark suit after graduation from the Academy, he thought he’d found his forever calling. He’d already spent years as an engineer at Cisco (a “technologist at heart,” as he says), but after 9/11, he felt pulled to serve. Counterterrorism. Counterintelligence. Cybercrime. The real thing. Then...

The Experience that Sparked Aloha Aloha Reader, Every great company begins with a story. Over the next few months, we’ll be sharing the journey that led to the birth of Aloha Publishing—a three-part series about our founder & CEO, Maryanna Young, and the lessons she's learned along the way. The first part of the story takes us back to the years before Aloha existed, when Maryanna worked as a sports agent representing Olympic and Paralympic athletes. These athletes longed to share their...
